Kitchen Case Study 2
In Christchurch our client wanted to add bi-folding doors to their new Purewell designed kitchen. We were on hand to assist with more than just the install. Our client wished to to remove the wall between the existing kitchen and the dining room and also to remove a small pair of french doors and a widow in the back external wall. Building regulation approval was required and organised by Purewell. To comply with building regulations, we fitted in a new 4m cavity steel beam, matched the face brickwork and fitted a new lead cavity tray. Once this was done we fitted 4m bi-fold open-out doors. Inside we moved most of the kitchen sockets, including adding some new sockets, repositioned the plumbing, plastered, painted and tiled the floor and walls. The air extraction to the cooker extractor was now in the new kitchen island and so we vented to the outside via a new air duct cut into the floor.
Getting rubbish from site and materials on to site was also an issue due to limited rear access but using only our smaller vans we easily overcame this.
